Environmental protection of the ski resort Titlis – Engelberg
Environmental protection is a top priority for Titlis mountain railways. The cable cars, hotels, and restaurants in the ski area are powered entirely by electricity from 100 percent hydropower supplied by local utility companies. In addition, the mountain railways are committed to optimizing energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions. For slope grooming, the GPS system Snowsat is used to prepare the slopes as energy-efficiently as possible. Future projects will also consistently focus on sustainability. In Engelberg, 7 free buses transport winter sports enthusiasts from all parts of the village to the Titlis lifts. There are also charging stations for electric cars at the valley station.
