Access, Parking Telluride

Highway 70 is a good 200 kilometers from the Telluride ski area. The road leading there is very well developed and mostly four lanes wide. The first 150 kilometers take you through a rather barren, desert-like landscape. The last few kilometers to Telluride lead gently uphill through a valley (canyon) to Telluride. Telluride Airport is only 10 kilometers from the ski area and is the highest commercial airport in the USA.

Winter Closure

Telluride is located in a box canyon and can only be reached via Highway 145. This highway ends in Telluride. There is no connection to Silverton.
