Kapellenbahn (YOC 2026)

Chairlift at the ski resort Schmittenhöhe – Zell am See

The new 8-seater chairlift Kapellenbahn replaces the 4-seater chairlift Kapellenbahn. The valley station of the new lift system from Doppelmayr has been relocated approximately 150 meters towards Piesendorf.

The optimized route provides improved access to the Pinzgauer Hütte and a more attractive slope layout. Despite the longer route, the new Kapellenbahn reduces travel time. In addition, the transport capacity increases by around 1,000 passengers per hour. At the same time, the vehicles of the new lift offer a significant increase in comfort with modern individual seats, weather protection covers, and automatically locking safety bars. With a conveyor belt entry and a greatly reduced speed at the boarding area, the Kapellenbahn is also easy to use for children and other less experienced winter sports enthusiasts. The innovative AURO system from Doppelmayr also supports staff by providing technical monitoring of the exit area.
