    Wide slopes, perfectly groomed runs, snow-sure conditions, "Japow" Japan Powder, magnificent off-piste areas through sparse forests, exceptionally friendly and attentive staff, views of the Pacific Ocean and Lake Toya, excellent signage in Japanese and English, free drinking water in the restaurants

    Negative points:

    No dining options at the summit, East Mountain and West Mountain not connected by ski runs, no cross-country trails
