The ski resort Passo dello Stelvio (Stelvio Pass) is located in the Alta Valtellina (Italy, Lombardy, Valtellina). It takes about 1 hour to get through the 48 turns leading up to the top of the Stelvio Pass at 2760 m. The road winds up from the Vinschgau Valley through the picturesque mountains. Other roads lead up to the pass from Switzerland and from Bormio. The Stelvio Pass itself is located in the Lombardy region, but the ski resort is mostly in South Tyrol.
