The Mt. Naeba ski resort is one of the most visited ski resorts in Japan. More than a dozen lifts start in front of the huge hotel complex of the Naeba Prince Hotel and provide access to the slopes below the 1,789 m high peak of Takenokoyama. In the winter of 2016, the FIS World Cup for slalom specialists was held here. In addition to skiing, the Mt. Naeba winter sports area is also popular with freeriders and snowpark fans.
