Ski lifts at the ski resort Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel – Kaprun
In the Kaprun ski area Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel, state-of-the-art lifts transport guests. During the core winter season, the 12-kilometer-long cable car axis K-ONNECTION links the center of Kaprun via the family mountain Maiskogel directly with the glacier ski area Kitzsteinhorn. For winter sports fans, this means ski-in ski-out from 768 to 3,029 meters.
The MK Maiskogelbahn starts in the center of Kaprun. This 10-seater gondola lift takes guests in two sections to the family-friendly Maiskogel ski area close to the village. At the mountain station, one of the most modern and energy-efficient cable cars in the world begins: Salzburg’s first tri-cable gondola lift, the 3K K-onnection, forms the link between Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn and leads to Langwied. The Gletscherjet 1 and the Panoramabahn from the Kaprun valley head also go to Langwied.
From Langwied, modern chairlifts and gondolas take you to the glacier and almost up to the summit. On the glacier itself, there are several drag lifts due to technical reasons. With the Schmiedingerbahn, an 8-seater chairlift, Salzburg’s highest chairlift takes you up to 2,775 meters.
