All lifts/cable cars Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel – Kaprun
New from December 2019: Opening of the link between Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn with the 3K Maiskogel-Langwied.
Very modern lifts transport skiers on the Kitzsteinhorn. Modern feeder lifts take you quickly up from the valley to Langwied and further up to the Alpincenter. In the 2015/2016 season, the Gletscherjet 3 (combined installation lift) and Gletscherjet 4 (10-person gondola lift) were introduced, leading up from the Alpincenter to the glacier. Due to technical constraints, on the glacier there are mainly tow lifts. Further to the opening of the Schmiedingerbahn lift in the 2016/2017 season, Salzburg's highest chairlift now leads up to 2,775 metres. The 8-person chairlift is high-speed (detachable) and has weather-protection covers and heated seats. There are additional modern chairlifts with covers and some with heated seats around the Alpincenter A 2-person chairlift is available at the snowpark for repeat runs.
The MK Maiskogelbahn lift has started directly in Kaprun since December 2018. This state-of-the-art 10-person gondola lift provides a link in 2 sections to the family ski resort of Maiskogel. From December 2019, the 3K Maiskogel-Langwied will run from the mountain station to the Kitzsteinhorn. On the Maiskogel, the Almbahn lift still goes slightly higher than the 10-person gondola lift. The 6-person chairlift has weather-protection covers. At the middle station of the MK Maiskogelbahn lift, there is a button lift that takes you to a beginners’ area.
