Extremely modern lifts transport winter sports enthusiasts in the Kaprun ski resort of Kitzsteinhorn/Maiskogel. The completion of the state-of-the-art 3K K-onnection tri-cable link (Maiskogel-Langwied) on 30 November 2019 turned the dream of a continuous cable car connection from Kaprun to the Kitzsteinhorn into reality. The MK Maiskogelbahn lift opened directly in Kaprun in December 2018. This very modern 10-person gondola lift provides a 2-section link to the Maiskogel family ski resort. The 3K K-onnection (Maiskogel-Langwied) then starts at the mountain station and takes skiers towards the Kitzsteinhorn. In addition to the 3K, feeder lifts also run from the Kitzsteinhorn base station to the Langwied middle station. From Langwied, modern chairlifts and cable cars transport skiers to the glacier and up to just below the summit. For technical reasons, there are several tow lifts on the actual glacier. With the Schmiedingerbahn 8-person chairlift, the resort is home to Salzburg's highest chairlift at 2,775 metres.
