Falginjochbahn (YOC 2019)

Aerial tramway/reversible ropeway at the ski resort Kaunertal Glacier (Kaunertaler Gletscher)

Falginjochbahn 1/13

Falginjochbahn

The new Falginjochbahn is the first 100-person Funifor in Austria. The modern, wind-stable lift replaces the two drag lifts Weißseeferner 1 and Weißseeferner 2. With the new, barrier-free lift, you can float from the glacier restaurant to the Falginjoch in less than 4 minutes.

The 100-person Funifor Falginjoch is manufactured by Doppelmayr. The main advantage of this lift is its exceptional wind stability, made possible by the particularly wide double cable guidance of 4.6 meters. In addition, the lift covers a route of around two kilometers with only two lift towers. The travel time is also reduced to under four minutes.

The cabin of the Falginjochbahn can accommodate up to 100 passengers. The lift is completely barrier-free, so that monoskiers, guests with limited mobility, and children can be transported safely and comfortably. The 100-person Funifor operates not only in winter, but also in summer. It is also designed as a showcase cable car, with numerous glass elements providing insight into the fascinating cable car technology.

In the first phase, due in part to the very short construction period on the glacier, only one track of the Falginjochbahn will be realized. The second track will be added shortly thereafter.
