Few signposts for orientation, no cross-country trails in KapplDescription Kappl
Kappl – an insider tip among medium-sized ski resorts. From the valley, the Dias four-person gondola takes you up to 1,830 m into the Kappl ski area. Here, you can transfer directly to the Alblitt chairlift with weather protection hoods, which takes you up to 2,300 m. From there, easy to intermediate slopes lead back down to the mountain station of the gondola. Alternatively, you can head over to the Alblitt lifts. The Alblitt drag lift ends before the slope gets steeper, while the Alblittkopf chairlift with weather protection hoods takes you all the way up to 2,644 m. From the top, you have a magnificent view of the Paznaun Valley.
The challenging run 8 and the intermediate run 7 lead over wide, treeless slopes back down to the Alblittkopf lift. The Latten run winds around the mountain and eventually ends at the Gongall double chairlift. Next to this run, you’ll find wonderful slopes that are perfect for deep-snow skiing. The Latten run gently leads over the Lattenjoch between the Alblittköpfe (2,720 m) and the Hohe Spitze (2,796 m) towards the tree line. With the Gongall double chairlift, you can ride back up the mountain shortly after reaching the tree line.
At the mountain station of the Diasbahn, there is a large area for families and beginners. The so-called Sunny Mountain Adventure Park features several conveyor belts (mostly covered) and is fully geared towards families. The Mardinalift, up to 2,130 m, also serves wide slopes. Advanced skiers prefer runs 3, 8, and 10 as well as the ski routes. Freeriders have access to a large, unsecured off-piste area. An intermediate run leads down to the valley station.
