Slope grooming/preparation Hunau – Bödefeld
The slope preparation is very good.
When Fritz Senge, then managing director of the Hunau ski area, heard about the new slope grooming machines in 1972, he made up his mind: he had to have one. However, for his fellow shareholders, the large roller was just the "crazy thing." To win them over, Senge used a trick. When operations were once again halted due to icy conditions, he organized a demonstration with a Kässbohrer Pisten Bully. In no time, it transformed the ice rink into a skiable slope. The "crazy thing" was ordered that very same day. The Hunau ski area still upholds its tradition as a pioneer in slope grooming, so you can always expect excellently groomed slopes here.
General note: By new snow, an optimal slope preparation is not always possible, even with a large effort. In addition, the new snow can not combine with the snow lying underneath and moguls are created quickly. For safety reasons, usually no slope preparation is possible during operating times.
