The Hochstein ski area starts in Lienz in East Tyrol. The valley station is located directly on the western edge of the town. Arrival from the north via Mittersill is on the Felbertauern road with the toll Felbertauern tunnel. Arrival from the west or east is either through the Pustertal or the Drautal. The nearest motorway is about 60 km from the ski area. Parking at the valley station is free of charge.
