The Großglockner Resort ski area is located near the towns of Kals and Matrei. Most accommodations in Kals are situated right on the slopes. A highlight in Kals is the Gradonna Mountain Resort, which is directly on the slopes. In the Adler Lounge, you can stay overnight right in the middle of the ski area. From Matrei, with a few exceptions, you need to take the ski bus to the lift. The Goldried gondola is located just outside of Matrei. A valley run leads to Matrei and also directly to Hotel Goldried.
