Skiing in the forest areas of the Wettersteinbahnen ski resort is prohibited. Reforested areas are additionally marked and fenced off. Both valley stations are connected to the region's ski bus network.

Ehrwald station on the Außerfern railway line connects Ehrwald with Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Reutte. The station is just under 2 km from the ski area. There is a bus connection. - Ski buses
- Scheduled buses
- Holders of a guest card or a valid ski pass can use the bus free of charge throughout the entire Tiroler Zugspitz Arena region. The ski buses stop directly at the Sonnenhangbahn and the Wettersteinbahn.
