The Wettersteinbahnen ski area starts in Ehrwald in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena. The nearest motorways are about 30 km away. Travelers from Germany can reach the area without an Austrian vignette, either via Garmisch or Füssen. From the A95 Munich-Garmisch motorway, at the Eschenlohe exit, continue via Garmisch and Grainau. From the A7 Memmingen-Füssen motorway, at the Füssen exit, continue via Reutte and the Fernpassbundesstraße. In Austria, take the A12 Inntalautobahn, exits Mötz or Imst, and continue via the Fernpassbundesstraße to Ehrwald.

Free parking is available at the 6-seater chairlift Sonnenhang Sunracer as well as at the Wettersteinbahn. For beginners and families, we recommend starting at the Sonnenhang Sunracer.
