South of the Mont Blanc massif rises the ski area of Courmayeur. Facing the highest mountain in Europe is the Val Veny sector, while the Plan Chécrouit sector is located on the side away from Mont Blanc. Cable cars transport guests from Entrèves and Courmayeur into the ski area and, due to theSouth of the Mont Blanc massif rises the ski area of Courmayeur. Cable cars transport guests from Entrèves and Courmayeur into the ski area and, due to the lack of a valley run, also back down. Dolonne, on the other side of the Dora Baltea river, is connected to the winter sports area by a gondola lift and also offers a valley run.
The ski slopes are mainly of intermediate difficulty. Some easy slopes can be found in the Courmayeur ski area between the mountain stations of the feeder lifts. The upper part of the ski area around Col Chécrouit (2,256 m) offers slopes suitable only for advanced skiers.
Freeriders have access from the winter sports area to Val Veny and Vallone Arpetta. Here, spectacular off-piste routes await those seeking deep powder skiing.
