Some flat sections, no chairlift with coversDescription Brandnertal – Brand/Bürserberg
There is a direct motorway exit to Brandnertal, making the ski area perfectly accessible. From there, it’s about 5 km up the mountain to Bürserberg, located at an altitude of 890m. From the edge of the village, the Einhorn I double chairlift, the Einhorn II four-seater chairlift, and the Loischbahn double chairlift take you up to the 1860m high Loischkopf. The Loischkopf offers wonderful runs for all levels of difficulty. From up here down to Bürserberg, you can ski almost 1000 vertical meters. At the mid-station of the Einhorn lifts, there is a beginner’s lift, and for a break, the Rufana Alp is highly recommended.
If you want to switch over to Brand, you have two options from the Loischkopf. Either take the Panoramabahn or ski down to the Faregglift, let yourself be pulled up a bit, and then glide over the ski trail to Brand.
The village of Brand is just as idyllic as Bürserberg, located in the heart of the Rätikon mountain range. The Dorfbahn, a modern eight-seater gondola with convenient escalator access, quickly takes you into the Brand area. At the mountain station, the Panoramabahn leads over to the Burtschasattel and into the Bürserberg area. The detachable six-seater Gulmabahn chairlift takes you up towards Niggenkopf and connects to the Palüd area. Wide runs lead down to the valley station of the Gulmabahn and the Niggenkopf II double chairlift.
A medium-difficulty run leads from the mountain station of the Gulmabahn to the Melkboden. Here you can take a break at the Palüdhütte, the Restaurant Hubertus, or the Berghof Melkboden. The detachable six-seater Glattjoch chairlift takes you up to the highest point in the ski area at 2000m. Several easy runs lead back down along the lift. A medium-difficulty run leads over the Unterzalimalpe down to Brand to the new modern 8-seater Palüd gondola, which starts at the edge of the village. The gondola quickly takes you back up to Melkboden, and from the mountain station of the Glattjochbahn, you can either take an easy run back to Niggenkopf or choose the medium-difficulty run through the Lorenzital, reaching the valley station of the Gulmabahn. In the upper part of the run, you can also choose steep sections through rocks, while the lower part is very flat, but with enough momentum, you can almost reach the Gulmabahn.
There are numerous restaurants spread throughout the area, all easy to find, and you can sit comfortably everywhere, with sunny terraces available in good weather. Pleasure skiers and families will get their money’s worth in Brandnertal, with beautiful runs and something for everyone. After skiing, you can enjoy après-ski at the Heuboda in Brand.
