Madison 8

Big Sky is the first ski resort in the USA to replace a six-seater chairlift with a larger installation. As a replacement for the Six Shooter 6-seater chairlift, the new Madison 8, the longest 8-seater chairlift in the world, was built on the north side of Lone Peak.

With the construction of Madison 8, Big Sky is the first North American ski resort with two 8-seater chairlifts. The latest-generation Doppelmayr installation, with a speed of six meters per second, reduces the travel time from Madison Base to the mountain by around 30 percent.
