The Appi Resort ski area opened in 1981 and stretches across Mt. Maemori (1,304 m) and Mt. Nishimori (1,328 m). The varied slopes offer beautiful views of the Appi Highlands and Mt. Iwate, the highest peak in Iwate Prefecture. With a range of slopes classified as easy, intermediate, or advanced,The Appi Resort ski area opened in 1981 and stretches across Mt. Maemori (1,304 m) and Mt. Nishimori (1,328 m). The varied slopes offer beautiful views of the Appi Highlands and Mt. Iwate, the highest peak in Iwate Prefecture. With a range of slopes classified as easy, intermediate, or advanced, skiers and snowboarders of all levels can enjoy this winter sports area. For adventure seekers, there are a total of 5 tree-run zones spread throughout the ski area. The beginner-friendly tree-run "Magic Forest" also allows inexperienced skiers to glide through the trees. Freestyle enthusiasts can enjoy a terrain park with various features and jumps. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, there are many other activities to experience, including guided snowshoe tours, backcountry tours, snowmobiling, and much more. The Appi Kogen ski area is the perfect destination to improve your skiing and snowboarding skills, explore adventurous landscapes, enjoy some of Japan’s best powder snow, or find true relaxation in Tohoku’s largest outdoor onsen.
