The ski lift "Am Ritter" in Gehlberg, located below the 978-meter-high Schneekopf, the second highest mountain in Thuringia, was an ideal ski area especially for families with children and beginners. In the past, there were several ski lifts and ski slopes to choose from in the immediate vicinity of Gehlberg. Unfortunately, all lifts have been dismantled and the ski area has been closed. Ski operations are no longer possible.
