Advanced skiing, freeriding (powder snow skiing) Altastenberg

The Altastenberg ski carousel is considered the most challenging ski area in the Sauerland. Its flagship is the FIS slalom slope. Another black slope and six red slopes complete the offering for advanced skiers. Unfortunately, all slopes are groomed immediately after fresh snowfall and across their entire width.

Information for advanced skiers, freeriders
  • no freeride/deep snow areas
  • few mogul slopes
  • no extremely difficult, steep and unprepared runs (Double Diamonds)

Most difficult run
  • FIS slalom slope · Length 0.4 km · Elevation difference 120 m
The only homologated FIS slope in the Sauerland, at Westfalenhang I.

General note: Always mind the avalanche warnings and barriers, please. Never ski into a closed and unsecured area.
