The cross-country trails lead right alongside the village in Altastenberg. Because Altastenberg is the highest village in Northwestern Germany, it is especially snow reliable and the trails mainly run along the scenic ridge of the Rothaar Mountains. There is also a connection to the trail networks of Westfeld, Lenneplaetze and Langewiese as well as to the Winterberg Bremberg trails. Via the Rothaar trail, you can ski to the Rhein-Weser-Turm and along the Hunauspur to the Ochsenkamp near Bad Fredeburg.
