Description Almenwelt Lofer

From the parking lot on the outskirts of Lofer, the modern eight-person gondola lift Loferer Alm I takes you up to Loderbichl at an altitude of 1,020 m. From there, a six-person gondola continues up to the Loferer Alm.

At the mountain station, the 8-seater chairlift Schwarzeck starts, which has been opening up new slopes since the 2012/2013 season and takes you up to 1,565 m. It is the world’s first child-safe 8-seater chairlift with weather protection covers, heated seats, and footrests. At the top station, a breathtaking 360° panoramic view awaits.

At the mountain station of the six-person gondola at the Loferer Alm, children and beginners will find perfect conditions. Two ski schools operate large children’s areas, and beginners are transported by a modern 140 m long covered conveyor belt. The slopes at this conveyor belt have an ideal gradient for beginners.

From the mountain station of the six-person gondola, you can also head over to the Family Express or to the Grubhörndl Kurven drag lift, which takes you up to 1,670 m just below the 1,747 m high Grubhörndl. For advanced skiers, there is a black run here, and for less experienced skiers, there are red and blue slopes, the latter of which leads back to the Loferer Alm.

The Family Express, a detachable six-seater chairlift with heated seats and weather protection covers, offers great comfort and allows for a quick ascent on the Loferer Alm, providing a connection to the state-of-the-art 8-seater chairlift Sender Express (formerly 4-seater chairlift Schönbühel). All chairlifts feature beautiful, wide runs that are mostly easy and intermediate. Ideal for the whole family.

On the Loferer Alm, there are cozy places to stop for refreshments, and you’ll also find charming huts along the valley run. The gastronomy in the ski area makes a good impression and offers a cozy atmosphere and hearty local cuisine.

The valley run starts below the Grubhörndl lift, and a short rope lift pulls you to the start if you don’t take the challenging run from the Grubhörndl. The valley run first leads over an intermediate slope, then along a long flat trail and an easy slope down to Loderbichl. Just below the mountain station of Loferer Alm Bahn I, it’s worth taking a short break from the descent and riding up with the Postalmlift.

Here you’ll find a short and challenging black run and a somewhat longer blue slope. The descent from Loderbichl down to the valley alternates between flat trails and intermediate to easy sections and can be fully covered with artificial snow, so the valley run is usually open throughout the season.

In the valley, there is also a small rope lift and a nice practice area for the little ones. It’s recommended to end your ski day at the Karussell umbrella bar right at the valley station.
