The Dachsteinkönig Familux Resort ****S (formerly Leading Family Hotel & Resort Dachsteinkönig) is probably the most exciting and innovative family hotel in Europe. It is located in Gosau (Upper Austria) and opened in December 2016. The cable cars of the Dachstein West ski area start right at the doorstep of this fabulous family resort. The Hornspitzbahn and the large children's area of the ski school are just 100 meters away.

105 family suites and twelve chalet units (single and double chalets, each with a private sauna) offer families luxurious living spaces at Dachsteinkönig. All room types naturally feature a separate children's room and plenty of luxury for both young and old.

The sensational indoor play area covers 2,000 m². Cinema and theater, a two-story soft play area, a family bowling alley, a gymnasium, a go-kart track, and many other attractions exceed the wildest dreams of many children. From the seventh day of life (!) babies and children are professionally cared for. 25 trained caregivers—mostly kindergarten teachers—look after young guests seven days a week from 8 am to 9 pm. The absolute highlight can be found in the pool area: the 100-meter-long water slide with amazing special effects.

You enter the spacious, brightly designed hotel lobby and immediately feel at home. After a very warm welcome from the reception staff, you are accompanied to your room or chalet. The luxurious suites are tastefully decorated, very spacious, and feature a separate children's room with bunk beds. Of course, you will find everything you need for a carefree holiday with a child or baby.

The chalets, with up to 157m², are stunningly beautiful. Several bedrooms, children's rooms, large bathrooms, a fireplace, and a private sauna are sure to impress.

The location and service at the Dachsteinkönig are ideal for a family ski holiday. For children as young as 2.5 years, a diaper ski school is offered on the hotel's own practice slope. Just 100 meters away is the large children's area “Fredy-Land.” It is located directly at the valley station of the Dachstein West family ski area and is an ideal practice area for children and beginners. Children are brought to and picked up from ski school by the team. At “Fredy-Land,” also just 100 meters from the hotel, the Hornspitz Express departs into the largest ski area in Upper Austria.

All public areas of the children's hotel, such as the thematically divided restaurants or the adults' and children's worlds, are barrier-free and on one level. The hotel's concept is very well thought out, making orientation easy for everyone. The legend of the Dachsteinkönig is reflected throughout the house in lovingly crafted details.

The food, offered as a buffet or in the evening at live cooking stations, is of excellent quality and a culinary delight. Naturally, there is always a separate children's buffet as well. At the “milk bar” in the lobby, you can help yourself to non-alcoholic drinks, specialty coffees, and snacks 24 hours a day. A delicious ice cream station with changing flavors delights every child's heart. A wine cellar with an extensive wine list and the inviting hotel bar complete the offerings.

For children, this hotel is truly a paradise that leaves nothing to be desired. 25 trained childcare professionals and entertainers look after the little ones for 13 hours a day, 7 days a week. Even the “baby club” for babies from the first week of life is included in the price. Play and romp in a 2,000 m² indoor area with a gym, two-story soft play area, cinema and theater, go-kart track, bowling, and much more. A special highlight for children is certainly the pool area (indoor and outdoor pool) with a total of 4 slides, including a 100-meter-long tube slide and various water features.

For adults, a beautiful “adults only” sauna area has been created with 6 different saunas and various relaxation rooms. The range of treatments and massages in the in-house spa is extensive, ensuring there is something for everyone.

An underground parking space is, of course, available to every guest.

In conclusion, the “Dachsteinkönig Familux Resort” is truly one of the most beautiful and innovative children's hotels in the world. The attention to detail, the friendliness of the staff, the excellent food, and the unobtrusive service make a holiday at the Dachsteinkönig an unforgettable experience. We were completely thrilled!
