Description:

The Familux Resort Oberjoch is one of the leading children's hotels in Germany. In December 2019, the "Kinderhotel Oberjoch" was renamed "Oberjoch – Familux Resort."

A sunny plateau, the Allgäu Alps, and an altitude of 1,200 meters – the perfect mix for top-class winter sports. The highlight of the winter season: The ski pass and the Snow Children's Land covering 20,000 m² are free for guests with the Bad Hindelang PLUS Card. The ski area is easily accessible from the Familux Resort, either on foot or by ski shuttle. The very youngest ski beginners can make their first turns right at the hotel, at the "Zwergerlskikurs."

But the little "snowmen" should definitely save some energy for the Oberjoch Familux Resort itself. It would be a shame if they missed out on testing Germany’s longest hotel water slide (128 meters!), the huge panoramic bathing and sauna area with indoor pool, outdoor pool, giant whirlpool, and the toddler water paradise "Planschen auf dem Bauernhof," or the 2,000 m² indoor play area with cinema & theater, soft play area, and go-kart track.

Skiresort.info test report from 2025-11-16:

Right at the entrance to Oberjoch, on a small hill with a beautiful view of the Allgäu Alps, you’ll find the extensively renovated Oberjoch Familux Resort (formerly Kinderhotel Oberjoch), which reopened on June 16, 2012. Significant investments have continued over the years, making the Oberjoch Familux Resort part of the absolute premium segment among the few 4-star superior children’s hotels. A free parking space in the underground garage is reserved for each room.

In the spacious entrance area, children are greeted by a play meadow with large toadstools, giant Lego blocks for building, and various swings. The rooms and suites are very comfortable and tastefully decorated. There are family suites in a top-modern Alpine style, suites for large families, and suites for singles with child(ren) or for grandparents. The rooms are very spacious and, of course, equipped with everything needed for a carefree holiday with a child or baby. Nothing except diapers needs to be brought from home!

The large hotel complex extends over several interconnected buildings. In the restaurant area, culinary delights are offered in buffet form, with a different theme every evening. The extensive breakfast buffet at the Oberjoch Familux Resort leaves nothing to be desired. Naturally, there is always a separate children’s buffet, and free non-alcoholic drinks and ice cream are available all day. In addition, Hipp baby jars, purees, and milk powder are always accessible. Lunch and afternoon snacks are also offered as a buffet, and the inviting panorama bar is open until late in the evening.

For children, the Oberjoch Familux Resort is truly a paradise. 25 trained childcare professionals and entertainers look after the little ones for 12 hours every day. Even the “Baby Club,” for babies from their first week of life, is included in the price and costs nothing extra. The panoramic pool area features an indoor and outdoor pool, a large whirlpool, the wonderful toddler pool “Plantschen auf dem Bauernhof,” as well as the 128 m long mega waterslide. A soft play area, indoor go-karts, cinema, and a family bowling alley are just a few of the highlights offered in the indoor play area, which covers over 2,000 square meters.

The Oberjoch Familux Resort is an ideal destination in winter. The Oberjoch ski area is very family-friendly and, with the Schneekinderland covering over 20,000 sqm, offers a large learning and action area. The ski pass and Schneekinderland are free for guests of the children’s hotel with the Bad Hindelang PLUS Card. Hotel shuttle buses run to the ski area, which is also easily accessible on foot. Children are taken from the hotel to the training area or ski instructor and picked up again. Directly at the Oberjoch Familux Resort, the Windel Ski Spaß is also offered. Children from 2 to 3.9 years are lovingly cared for on a magic carpet and carousel and learn the feeling of being on two skis.

There is also plenty to do for children outside the ski season. Outdoors, there is a lovingly designed adventure climbing forest, a playground, and a bouncy castle. The hotel’s petting zoo with ducks, birds, rabbits, and 2 alpacas is also very popular with the little ones. Guests of the hotel also have free use of the Bad Hindelang Plus Card for leisure activities, which includes 70 partners such as mountain railways/ski pass and buses.

For adults, the Oberjoch Familux Resort offers a large wellness area with a spa and a variety of different saunas. In addition to the separate children’s and textile sauna, there are “adults only” sauna and relaxation areas. The saunas offer a fantastic view of the Allgäu Alps. There is a wide range of treatments and massages, so there is certainly something for everyone. The “Athleticum” in the glass cube will make every athlete’s heart beat faster.

Conclusion: The Oberjoch Familux Resort is great fun for children and adults alike and guarantees an exciting, relaxing, and first-class family holiday!
