Environmental protection of the ski resort Zillertal Arena – Zell am Ziller/Gerlos/Königsleiten/Hochkrimml
Great importance is placed on environmental protection in the Zillertal Arena. The ski area uses energy from 100% CO²-neutral electricity. Photovoltaic systems for clean electricity generation are installed throughout the entire Zillertal Arena ski area. In Gerlos, the world’s first conveyor belt equipped with a photovoltaic system was installed in January 2013. The covered conveyor belt from Sunkid is fitted with solar modules and produces more green electricity than it consumes. In Zell am Ziller, Gerlos, and Königsleiten, there are e-charging stations at several parking lots. In the village of Wald-Königsleiten, e-BOB cars (electric cars) are available for rent. Forestry protection areas and the extensive ski bus network also help to protect the environment. All huts are connected to the sewage system, and the entire ski area serves as alpine pastureland in summer.

The Zillertalbahn runs in the Zillertal. The narrow-gauge railway goes from Jenbach to Mayrhofen. The Zillertalbahn station in Zell am Ziller is about 2 km from the Rosenalm and Karspitzbahn gondola lifts. There is a ski bus. - Comprehensive ski bus network
- Scheduled buses
- The ski bus network at the Zillertal Arena is very well developed. The ski bus station is located directly at the valley station in Zell, and free ski buses between the individual villages and throughout the entire Zillertal ensure easy transportation without a car.
