The valley towns of Zermatt (1,620 m), Breuil-Cervinia (2,050 m), and Valtournenche (1,524 m) are situated at high altitudes, and the ski area extends up to nearly 4,000 meters above sea level. In the international ski area, there are also well over 1,000 snow cannons available for piste snowmaking. This means that throughout the winter season, you will usually find excellent conditions across the entire ski area.
In Zermatt and Breuil-Cervinia, you can enjoy winter sports all year round at the Matterhorn glacier paradise. The Theodul Glacier is the largest and highest glacier ski area in the Alps. It is accessible from Zermatt year-round and offers winter sports opportunities 365 days a year. From Breuil-Cervinia, you can also access the glacier ski area year-round, except during the mid-season in spring. Additionally, in Zermatt at Trockener Steg, there is top-quality snowmaking with the IDE Snowmaker from Israel.
