K-1 Köhlerhagen (YOC 2018)
World's first D-Line 8-seater chairlift in Willingen

Chairlift at the ski resort Willingen – Ettelsberg

The new K1 Köhlerhagen 8-seater chairlift in the Willingen ski area is one of the most modern lift systems in Germany and the first D-Line 8-seater chairlift in the world. It replaces the two drag lifts Köhlerhagen 1 and Köhlerhagen 2. The state-of-the-art, comfortable, and high-performance 8-seater chairlift from Doppelmayr is designed for both winter skiing and summer mountain biking.

The K1 Köhlerhagen 8-seater chairlift greatly improves the overall situation at Ettelsberg. Compared to the drag lifts, it offers a much higher transport capacity, significantly shorter travel time, and greatly increased comfort, while also optimizing and extending the lift route. The valley station is now located north of the access road and the Hoppecke river, and the mountain station has been moved closer to the summit cross on Ettelsberg. As a result, the length of the valley run has increased to 1.6 km.

The K1 Köhlerhagen project in the Willingen ski area in the Sauerland/Upland region costs around 10 million euros in total. In addition to the new 8-seater chairlift, it includes new road tunnels and an extension of the piste. These measures eliminate various crossing points with road traffic and significantly improve the connection from Ettelsberg to the Hoppernkopf and Ritzhagen areas.
