Description Wildkogel – Neukirchen/Bramberg

From Neukirchen and Bramberg, gondola lifts take you via mid-stations up to the Wildkogel ski area at around 2,100 m. Up here, parents can have their children supervised (at both mountain stations), and there are even dedicated children's restaurants and practice areas with magic carpets. You can also enjoy a magnificent view of the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Pinzgau region, and even look across to the Gerlosplatte/Hochkrimml ski area (Zillertal Arena).

The Wildkogel ski area is a kind of basin, situated at about 1,700 m to 2,150 m, where you can enjoy the slopes and off-piste runs on treeless hillsides. From the mountain station of the Wildkogelbahn, a connecting trail leads over to the detachable four-seater chairlift Gensbichlalm. Here you will find easy to intermediate runs, and from the top station of the lift you can also enter the basin and reach the Ganzer X-press or the six- and four-seater chairlifts. Three more drag and platter lifts also operate in the basin, mostly serving easy slopes.

Another very beautiful intermediate run descends almost 500 vertical meters to the mid-station (1,642 m) of the Wildkogelbahn and continues all the way down to Neukirchen. Intermediate runs above the tree line lead down into the basin to the detachable four-seater chairlift Ganzeralm or a bit further down to the start of the long six-seater chairlift Frühmesser with weather hoods on one side and the six-seater chairlift Pfeifferköpfl on the other side. The Frühmesser six-seater chairlift goes up to 2,150 m, the highest point in the ski area. Wonderful, wide, and easy runs in the upper section lead back down into the basin. The 10-seater gondola Ganzer X-press also serves a large part of the slopes.

You can return to the mountain station of the Wildkogel gondola with the Ganzeralmbahn, which ends directly at the mountain station, or from Pfeifferköpfl via a connecting trail. From Pfeifferköpfl, you can start the run along the Smaragdbahn down to Bramberg. This is also where the 14 km long valley run and the world's longest toboggan run (listed in the Guinness Book) start, leading down to Bramberg. At first, the ski run is relatively steep through wooded terrain, but then gradually turns into a well-developed forest road and finally ends in Bramberg. The Smaragdbahn quickly takes you back up into the ski area.

You’ll find plenty of opportunities for refreshments in the Wildkogel ski area, with numerous rustic, small to medium-sized huts inviting you to take a break. At the end of the ski day, umbrella bars and restaurants in Neukirchen and Bramberg await you.
