Quality and comfort improvements in the Wildkogel-Arena

For even more quality, improved comfort, and award-winning skiing pleasure, the Wildkogel mountain lifts have built the new 10-seater gondola lift "Ganzer X-press." This investment of around 13 million euros ensures that the family-friendly Wildkogel Arena remains highly attractive and has a bright future ahead.

The new 10-seater gondola lift "Ganzer X-press" runs from the Ganzer Grundalpe up to the Pfeifferköpfl, crossing the existing 6-seater chairlift Pfeifferköpfl, with the new mountain station located about 60 meters west of the current mountain station of the Pfeifferköpflbahn. Waiting times at the Pfeifferköpflbahn are now a thing of the past, allowing skiers to enjoy their day on the slopes even more.

Right on time for the start of the 2017/18 winter season, the brand-new, state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola lift began operation. The construction of the lift relied primarily on the expertise and resources of regional companies, making the mountain lifts an important driver for the local economy.

A particularly environmentally friendly route was chosen for the lift line to meet all requirements. The detachable gondola lift allows for relaxed and comfortable boarding and offers maximum passenger comfort during the approximately 4-minute ride to the mountain station. The 50 comfortable 10-seater cabins transport 2,870 people per hour over a length of 1,510 meters and an altitude difference of 403 meters up the mountain. The drive system uses the environmentally friendly and globally unique "DirektDrive," an energy-efficient and low-noise direct drive from LEITNER.

As part of the new construction, approximately 2.5 km of new slopes were also created, all equipped with a snowmaking system. This guarantees maximum snow reliability and the consistently high, award-winning slope quality you’ve come to expect.

But it’s not just slope skiers who benefit from these quality improvements—freeriders and off-piste skiers will also find much more to enjoy in the Wildkogel Arena. With the construction of the new lift, an attractive and varied off-piste area covering more than 15 hectares has been made accessible for skiing—an Eldorado for every freerider!
