Ganzer X-press (YOC 2017)
Quality and comfort improvements in the Wildkogel-Arena

Circulating ropeway/gondola lift at the ski resort Wildkogel – Neukirchen/Bramberg

Ganzer X-press 1/13

Ganzer X-press

For even more quality, improved comfort, and multiple award-winning skiing pleasure, the Wildkogel cable cars have built the new 10-seater gondola lift "Ganzer X-press." This investment of around 13 million euros ensures that the family-friendly Wildkogel Arena will continue to offer the highest level of attractiveness and a bright future.

The new 10-seater gondola lift "Ganzer X-press" runs from the Ganzer Grundalpe up to the Pfeifferköpfl, crossing the existing 6-seater chairlift Pfeifferköpfl. The new mountain station is being built about 60 meters west of the existing mountain station of the Pfeifferköpflbahn. Waiting times at the Pfeifferköpflbahn are now a thing of the past, allowing skiers to enjoy their ski day even more.

Just in time for the start of the 2017/18 winter season, the new state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola lift began operation. During construction, the focus was primarily on the expertise and skills of regional companies. This makes the cable cars an important driving force for the local economy.

A particularly environmentally friendly route was chosen for the line to meet all requirements. The detachable gondola lift allows for relaxed and comfortable boarding and offers the highest level of passenger comfort on the ride to the mountain station, which takes only about 4 minutes. The 50 comfortable 10-seater cabins transport 2,870 people per hour over a length of 1,510 meters and an altitude difference of 403 meters up the mountain. The drive is provided by the environmentally friendly and globally unique "DirektDrive," an energy-efficient and low-noise direct drive from LEITNER.

As part of the new construction, approximately 2.5 km of new slopes were also created, naturally equipped with a technical snowmaking system. This guarantees maximum snow reliability and the usual, repeatedly award-winning slope quality.

But it's not just slope skiers who benefit from these quality improvements; freeriders and off-piste skiers will also find a significantly expanded offering in the Wildkogel Arena. An attractive, varied off-piste skiing area covering more than 15 hectares has been made accessible with the construction of the new lift—an Eldorado for every freerider!
