The Vogel ski resort is located in a snow-rich region in the Julian Alps. Most of the slopes are situated above 1,500 meters. Since the ski area is located within a national park, snowmaking is very limited. Only some of the main slopes are covered with artificial snow at the start of the season. The valley run depends on natural snow, but due to its shady location, it is often open during the winter.
