In the mountain village of Tenna in the Safien Valley, you’ll find the world’s first solar-powered ski lift. The small Tenna ski area offers a peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere and is ideal for children, beginners, and anyone who wants to enjoy skiing and snowboarding surrounded by nature. A particularly impressive feature is the newly developed support system for the solar panels. The so-called Solar Wings optimally align themselves with the position of the sun, allowing for significantly higher energy output. The solar panels are mounted above the lift cables on supports and cable systems, generating much more electricity than the ski lift itself consumes. The surplus energy is fed into the public grid.
Tenna stands for sustainable winter sports, authentic nature experiences, and a relaxed alternative to large winter sports resorts.
