Description Stowe

From Stowe Village, you can reach the ski area in just under 15 minutes via a well-developed and scenic road. Before reaching the mountain, the road splits to the Spruce Peak Base Lodge and Mansfield Base Lodge, where plenty of parking is available. The two base lodges are connected by the Over Easy gondola. At Spruce Peak, a triple chairlift, two double chairlifts, and a conveyor belt operate in the lower section, which are especially suitable for beginners. With the Sunny Spruce Quad and the Sensation Quad, both detachable four-seater chairlifts, you can reach the 1,033-meter-high Spruce Peak. Several intermediate to easy runs lead through forest clearings back down to the valley. From up here, you used to be able to ski over to Smugglers' Notch, but unfortunately, this connection is no longer maintained.

From the Mansfield Base Lodge, a double chairlift, a triple chairlift, and a detachable four-seater chairlift take you up to wide forest runs. The detachable four-seater chairlift Fourrunner Quad goes all the way up to the summit, where you have a magnificent view. The runs at the Fourrunner Quad are mostly very steep. The easier runs follow the Mountain Triple chairlift down to the valley. Down to Toll House, about 2 km from the Mansfield Base Lodge, there are only very easy runs. The Toll House double chairlift then brings you back to the other slopes. Very beautiful runs can be found at the eight-person gondola. Via the "Crossover" run, you can easily reach the gondola. The runs along the gondola are mostly intermediate—highly recommended is the "Perry Merrill" run! You’ll find several nice restaurants spread throughout the ski area for a break. Highly recommended are the Cliff House Restaurant and the Midway Base Lodge at the gondola.

The two base lodges, Mansfield and Spruce, are connected by a six-person gondola. In recent years, Stowe has invested heavily in on-mountain accommodations, so now you can stay perfectly and directly on the slopes.
