Description Steinplatte Winklmoosalm – Waidring/Reit im Winkl

From the Seegatterl parking lot, on the edge of Reit im Winkl, you can take the eight-person gondola up to the Winklmoosalm. After just under 10 minutes, you can strap on your skis or board and either take the detachable four-seater chairlift Roßalm or the very gently sloping Roßalm drag lift up towards Scheibelberg.

Beginners will find an ideal practice area here. Thanks to the new detachable four-seater chairlift built for the 2004/2005 season, the slope has become even more attractive, as beginners can now rest during the ride up and enjoy the beautiful wide descent even more. An easy slope leads further down to the Zigeuner-Kurvenlift. Here, the valley run to Seegatterl also branches off. From the top station of the Zigeuner-Kurvenlift, you can take the new child-safe six-seater chairlift with heated seats and blue covers, Scheibelberg, towards Steinplatte.

If you have the Reit im Winkl-Steinplatte lift pass, you can take another easy run over to Austria. Passing the Möseralm, the run leads down to the Steinplatte eight-seater chairlift with covers and heated seats and to the detachable eight-seater chairlift Kapellen, both taking you towards Steinplatte. With the detachable four-seater chairlift Bäreck or the detachable six-seater chairlift with covers Plattenkogel, you can ride all the way up to the Steinplatte at 1,860 meters. The intermediate Steinberg run No. 9 down to the eight-seater chairlift and four-seater chairlift Bäreck is highly recommended. Advanced skiers will find the only groomed difficult run here, below the six-seater chairlift Plattenkogel. A wide intermediate run leads to the Kammerköhr Alm. Here is the top station of the 15-person gondola from Waidring, which allows you to reach the Steinplatte quickly and comfortably from the Austrian side.

The runs on the Steinplatte are all very well signposted and well groomed, and you have many options to make your descents varied. Thanks to the modern chairlifts, you are quickly and comfortably back at the start of a new run. From almost any point on the Steinplatte, you can start the valley run to Seegatterl (Germany); unfortunately, there is no valley run to Waidring. The 12 km long run from the summit to Seegatterl is mostly a very easy descent. It is always recommended to keep left until you enter the forest after the Möseralm. You will eventually reach the top station of the Roßalm lifts, then turn left past the Zigeunerlift and follow the long, gentle trail along a stream to the parking lots at Seegatterl. The last 2 km of the run are very flat, so you will need to push a bit from time to time. This run is also suitable for beginners.
