Environmental protection of the ski resort Speikboden – Skiworld Ahrntal

Nature and the environment are an important part of Skiworld Ahrntal. At Speikboden, regionality is a top priority. The huts mostly use products from the region. In summer, the slopes become green meadows and alpine pastures grazed by livestock. Great importance is placed on the renaturation of the slopes at Speikboden. The Ahrntal is energy self-sufficient, and thus the ski area is powered by green hydropower. The reservoir at Speikboden can be completely filled with meltwater, and due to its location at around 2,000 meters, a natural pressure builds up that powers the snow cannons with reduced energy consumption. Another goal is to make the ski area plastic-free.

Public transportation/on-site mobility
