Description Sillian – Thurntaler (Hochpustertal)

From Sillian-Heinfels, opposite the Sporthotel Sillian, the 3.5 km long six-person gondola lift takes you up into the Thurntaler ski area. From the mountain station, you can float up towards Thurntaler with the Gadein four-seater chairlift or glide over to the Thurntaler six-seater chairlift, which takes you up to 2,407 m, the highest point in the ski area.

The slopes are mostly of intermediate difficulty, nice and wide, and located on treeless hillsides. Slope No. 6 down to the detachable Ausservillgraten four-seater chairlift runs through a bit of wooded terrain in its lower section.

Highly recommended is the valley run down to Sillian, which offers plenty of variety—sometimes through forest, across alpine meadows, a short flat section, and some steeper parts. At the mid-station, you can also rejoin the gondola lift.

For beginners, there is a small practice area with a drag lift, practice lift, and conveyor belt (for ski school use only) at the mountain station of the gondola lift. At the Gadein four-seater chairlift, you’ll also find an easy, wide slope (No. 3) alongside the numerous intermediate runs.

Sillian offers winter sports fun above the tree line on wide, perfectly groomed slopes and long descents down to Sillian and Ausservillgraten. Thanks to the four-seater chairlift, you can now enjoy the run down to Ausservillgraten several times a day. In the ski area, you’ll find cozy restaurants and huts at the mountain station of the gondola lift and at the valley stations of the six-seater chairlift and the detachable four-seater chairlift.

After a day on the slopes, you can visit the umbrella bar at the Sillian valley station for some après-ski, or relax in the wellness area with heated outdoor pool at the Sporthotel Sillian, right at the valley station.
