The small ski area Zöblen/Schattwald in Tyrol consists of 4 lifts. Close to the German border, the Wannenjoch triple chairlift starts from the village of Schattwald and heads up towards the mountain of the same name, which is 1,909 m high. The lift ends at an altitude of 1,565 m. A very beautiful, wide, intermediate forest run leads back down to Schattwald.
This run is ideal for families and leisurely skiers. In the upper third, you can branch off towards Zöblen via an easy slope, which leads to the Stuibenlift, opening up an easy run in the Stuibental. You need to take this lift up to reach the easy run over to Zöblen, or to return to Schattwald via the easy slope.
If you choose the route to Zöblen, you will first reach the Mühlhang platter lift in the valley, which serves an easy beginner’s slope and connects to the Rohnenspitzbahn. The chairlift then comfortably takes you up to about 1,460 m.
There are three different runs at this lift. On the left side of the lift is the difficult Rohnenspitze ski route, while on the right are the intermediate FIS run and the easy Pontental run.
To return to Schattwald, you need to take the Pontental run from the top station of the Rohnenbahn and always keep to the left, crossing the run from the Stuibental and thus reaching the base station of the Wannenjoch triple chairlift again.
For refreshments, there is the Stube 15.60 directly at the top station of the chairlift and inns at the base stations. The cozy ski area is suitable for families. The small ski connection to the neighboring village also makes the ski area more interesting for advanced skiers.
