Environmental friendliness/environmental protection Saint-Lary-Soulan

Test result5 out of 5 stars

Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows

Environmental friendliness of the ski resort Saint-Lary-Soulan

The ski resort of Saint-Lary-Soulan is located in the beautiful natural setting of the Pyrenees. The ski resort is located on the edge of the Pyrenees National Park. Some ski slopes even lie within the boundaries of the National Park and artificial snow-making is therefore not permitted on these runs. Strict rules apply to the construction of new lifts. Power is obtained from 100% renewable energies (water and wind power). Great emphasis is placed on recycling of ski passes and sorting of waste. Altiservice has installed special waste containers to collect cigarette ends for recycling by the company Terracycle. At the weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) and on Wednesdays, there is a bus connection from Toulouse (from 6 stops in the city) at a very attractive price including a ski pass. This helps to minimise individual travel.
