Cross-country ski trails run directly alongside the Sahnehang; they are particularly snow-sure and mostly follow scenic routes along the ridge of the Rothaar Mountains. There are connections to the trail networks of Altastenberg, Westfeld, Lenneplätze, and Langewiese, as well as to the one at Winterberg's Bremberg. Via the Rothaarloipe, you can ski all the way to the Rhein-Weser-Turm, and along the Hunauspur to Ochsenkamp near Bad Fredeburg. Beautiful winter hiking trails lead across the high heath areas of the Kahler Asten.
