Description Oberaudorf – Hocheck

After a long period of dormancy, the almost forgotten Hocheck ski area was revived in 2002. The old single chairlift was replaced by a modern, high-performance four-seater chairlift. All the slopes were equipped with snow cannons, ensuring reliable snow conditions from December to March. Despite the affordable prices, there is no skimping on modern facilities such as snow groomers, snow cannons, access systems, and information boards at the valley station.

From the Oberaudorf motorway exit, you can reach the valley station in about 3 minutes. The detachable and therefore fast four-seater chairlift takes you up to Hocheck via a mid-station (open only in summer). At the mountain station, you'll find the cozy Gasthof Hocheck and the Idealhang drag lift, which provides access to a wide, easy to intermediate descent. You can carve straight down to the valley along the Südhang drag lift. Another platter lift, the Finkenlift, is available to winter sports enthusiasts on the right side of the area when there is enough snow. The valley run leads from the Südhang lift via a connecting trail (Wenger Schuss) through wooded terrain and then becomes a wide slope, mostly of intermediate difficulty, with a short steep section. You can ski directly back to the base of the four-seater chairlift.

A little above the valley station, there is a small fun park with jumps and a practice area (fully covered with artificial snow) featuring 2 SunKid conveyor belts (one even 50 m long) and a rope tow, as well as several wave tracks and a carousel. Here you'll also find the large P4 parking lot, which has been expanded, allowing you to access the slope and practice area directly without a long walk. The slopes below the 1,634 m high Brünnstein are always in excellent condition thanks to modern snowmaking and grooming equipment. For refreshments, the ski area offers Gasthof Hocheck, Wenger Stadl on the valley run, AlmRausch at the valley station, and near the valley station, Wildbachstüberl and Ochsenwirt.

A 3 km long, illuminated toboggan run leads from the mountain station down to Oberaudorf—a fun experience by day and night. For night skiing, the four-seater chairlift, the Idealhang drag lift, and, if needed, the Südhang drag lift are open. The illuminated slope thus measures 3 km from the mountain station to the valley station and is the longest night skiing slope in Germany. After skiing or snowboarding, you can enjoy a cozy après-ski at AlmRausch at the valley station. The ski and toboggan area is also very well suited for company outings or school groups.
