Mechi Chal is located in southern Bulgaria in the Rhodope Mountains. The ski resort is about 2 km south of the winter sports town of Chepelare and about 70 km south of Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s second largest city. North of Plovdiv, the nearest motorway is the A1 Sofia-Burgas.

The neighboring ski resort Pamporovo is about 10 km away and there is a ski bus shuttle service. The drive from Sofia takes about 3 hours. Other distances: Thessaloniki 5 hours, Istanbul 6 hours, Bucharest 6.5 hours, and Belgrade 7 hours.

There is a paid parking lot directly at the valley station.
