The Penkenbahn is a world first: it is the first 3S lift worldwide with a curve. The state-of-the-art lift system with 32-person cabins from Doppelmayr replaces the 15-person Penken gondola lift. The Penkenbahn connects Mayrhofen with the Penken sector.
The most important feature of the Penkenbahn, compared to other 3S lifts, is its curve. The curve saddle has a length of 50 meters and an angle of 6.5°. When constructing the Penkenbahn, the stations were also designed to be barrier-free.
