The lift and the ski slope have been closed since the winter of 2010/2011. Right next to the Malberg-Hütte was the only ski slope for alpine downhill skiing in the Vorderer Westerwald. The ski slope on the Malberg, with a total length of around 470 m and an elevation difference of around 105 m, was the longest downhill run in the wider area.
