Description Kronplatz (Plan de Corones)

Kronplatz stands for perfect skiing, magnificent slopes, and modern lift facilities—meaning hardly any waiting times, a short ascent, and long-lasting skiing fun. From Reischach, Percha, Olang, Furkel Pass, St. Vigil, and Piculin, modern gondolas whisk you up to the summit of the 2,275-meter-high Kronplatz.

Detachable chairlifts with weather protection hoods also carry winter sports enthusiasts back up the mountain. From Furkel Pass at 1,759 meters, you can ski down to St. Vigil in Enneberg. With the Skitrans Bronta, a 12-seater gondola lift, you can reach further gondolas to Piz de Plaies, the outermost mountain of the Kronplatz ski area. Experts will find excellent conditions on the Erta run (Erta means "the Steep" in Ladin), an extremely steep slope.

In the winter of 2006/2007, Kronplatz moved into the center of the Dolomites and finally got the long-awaited connection to the Sellaronda! With the construction of the “Piculin” cable car, a fast ski bus connection to the lifts in Alta Badia became a reality.

The facility on the southwest side of Piz de Plaies, with a length of 1,500 meters and an elevation difference of 500 meters, opens up one of the most challenging slopes in Italy. In the valley area, a modern service center has been built, featuring parking, an info point, ski rental, ski depot, supermarket, and a restaurant. The associated attractive and challenging Piculin run is also a thrill for experts. It is 2 km long and covers a vertical drop of 500 meters.

To return to Furkel Pass and up to Kronplatz, you can take the Bronta, Miara, Col Toron gondolas, Costa four-seater chairlift, and Ruis gondola. The summit of Kronplatz mainly features easy to intermediate runs. Highly recommended is the intermediate run down to Olang, and for those who prefer more of a challenge, the black runs Sylvester and Herrnegg down to Reischach. Of course, from the summit, you can also take an easy run down to Furkel Pass, then ride the Rara or Pre de Peres gondolas a short way back up, and ski directly down to St. Vigil.

A highlight is the Ried summit gondola, which takes winter sports enthusiasts from Percha train station over a total length of more than 6 kilometers up to the summit of Kronplatz. The corresponding Ried run offers 7 kilometers of skiing fun.

Throughout the ski day, numerous mountain huts in the ski area invite you to take a break. Après-ski is at its best in Reischach, where umbrella bars, the K1, and the Giggeralm are available.

After skiing, you should definitely visit the old town and narrow alleys of Bruneck. Beautiful restaurants invite you to enjoy dinner and linger.

Additional drag lifts can be found in the Antholz Valley (Niedertal/Riepenlift, 1,100 m–1,462 m, length 1,566 m, elevation difference 362 m) as well as in the Gsies Valley in the villages of Taisten (Guggenberg drag lift, length 752 m, elevation difference 174 m) and at the end of the valley in St. Magdalena (1 drag lift, 1,480 m–1,715 m, length 1,159 m, elevation difference 235 m), as well as in Terenten, length 747 m, elevation difference 178 m, and in Antermoia, length 597 m, elevation difference 172 m.
