Evaluated by Skiresort.info, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts.
The evaluation is done as follows
Environmental protection of the ski resort Kronplatz (Plan de Corones)
The Kronplatz ski area treats nature with great responsibility. Sustainability is an important focus. The facilities are modern and energy-efficient. Efficient snow management ensures that only as much artificial snow is produced as is actually needed. The melting water is collected again at the top of the mountain.
Arriving without a car is ideal. The train station in Percha offers direct access to the ski area. Free ski buses operate extensively. Charging stations for electric cars are also available at the valley stations.
The summit of Kronplatz features a district heating plant powered by wood chips from local damaged timber. Projects to preserve biodiversity are being carried out. Forest areas are closed off to protect wildlife. Restaurants are heated with the waste heat from the lift systems. Electricity is generated using the resort’s own photovoltaic systems.
