1/22 Fleckalmbahn
The quality initiative at the KitzSki ski area continues to progress successfully, and thus, for the 2019/20 season, the 10-seater Fleckalm gondola lift went into operation. The Fleckalmbahn offers the highest level of passenger comfort currently available on the market and features state-of-the-art cable car technology.
The 96 gondolas are equipped with ergonomically shaped individual seats with leather upholstery, seat heating, and lumbar heating. Since the 2021/22 season, the chairlift has offered an Intelligent Heat Detector (IHD). Using a heat sensor on a reference vehicle of the system as well as the access gates, the IHD system can automatically regulate the seat heating, helping to save energy and ensure the sustainable use of the seat heating.
It is the first 10-seater gondola lift (EUB) in Austria with an operating speed of up to 7 m/sec. The number of support towers was reduced from 29 to 22. In addition, an intelligent traffic and parking concept for individual transport was developed. The cable car makes a gentle left turn on its way to the Ehrenbachhöhe.
The last ride of the old Fleckalmbahn was on April 14, 2019. Since April 15, 2019, construction of the new lift has been underway at full speed. The opening took place on December 6, 2019, right on time at 8:30 a.m. for the 2019/20 winter season in the Kitzbühel/Kirchberg ski area.
