The connection of the Langtauferer Valley (South Tyrol) to the Kaunertal Glacier is planned. With the Kaunertal-Langtaufers ski link, this would become the first cross-border ski connection between North and South Tyrol. If realized, the Melagbahn (Langtaufers) would be the longest gondola lift in the Alps. The project planning is currently on hold, but resumption at a later date is possible.
