Culinary delights or cozy mountain huts provide the perfect opportunity to take a break. The dining options are evenly distributed throughout the entire ski area. A highlight featuring culinary specialties is the annual Ski Food Festival in December for the season opening.

Albergo

At the Wimbachexpress mountain station at 2,340 m

The mountain restaurant Albergo was completely reopened for the 2018/19 season. It offers high-quality Italian cuisine. The menu features a selection of antipasti, soups, salads, fine meat and fish dishes, as well as risotto. Highlights include homemade pasta and filled dumplings. Of course, typical Italian desserts are not missing. An excellent and refined wine list completes the offer. On the Sky Terrazza, you can soak up the sun and enjoy the view over the Zillertal valley. The Albergo is the culinary highlight of the Hochzillertal ski area.

Wedelhütte

At the transition between Kaltenbach and Hochfügen at 2,352 m

The Wedelhütte invites guests to linger and indulge in delicious treats in an extravagant chalet atmosphere. The upper floor has something truly special to offer. In the exclusive Gourmet Lounge, you can experience culinary delights at the highest level. Cozy parlors and sun terraces are, of course, also available. The Wedelhütte is home to Austria’s highest wine cellar. Although this wine cellar is located in the "cellar" of the Wedelhütte, it offers a magnificent view of the Zillertal mountains. Where else can you enjoy the finest wines while taking in such a breathtaking panorama? It’s no wonder that the Wedelhütte has been honored with the "Best Wine Cellar" award.

Kristallhütte

At the mountain station of the Kristall-Express at 2,147 m

In recent years, the Kristallhütte has become the hotspot in the Hochzillertal ski area. Here, you can enjoy a unique mountain lifestyle with international beats and club sounds. The head chef impresses with a young, creative cuisine! At Kristallhütte, great importance is placed on the freshness and origin of the products. That’s why regional products of the highest quality are served. The truffle fries are highly recommended. You’ll find the typical hut atmosphere by the open fireplace and in the rustic parlors. In good weather, the large sun terrace with its own bar, waterbeds, and deck chairs is a real draw. Sheltered from the wind, you can enjoy the fantastic panorama here with great music. Kristallhütte also offers an exclusive wine cellar and suites for overnight stays.

Bergrestaurant Mountain View

At the mountain station of the Hochzillertalbahnen at 1,760 m

The Mountain View mountain restaurant is a technical masterpiece. It offers plenty of space for ski groups, clubs, and families. The self-service restaurant features an excellent selection of traditional Zillertal dishes as well as burgers, pasta, and pizza. An appealing salad buffet and desserts are, of course, also available. Complimentary fresh tap water is provided. A large sun terrace with panoramic views and two attractive bars complete the offering. As decoration, you will find the old gondolas of the Spieljochbahn and an old single chairlift. Additionally, an info point, ski depot, sports shop, mountain guide center, ski school, group restaurant, apartments, and the Zwergerlclub guest kindergarten are all integrated into the Mountain View.

Ski Food Festival

Spread across 13 huts in the Hochzillertal ski area

Every year in December, the season opening in Hochzillertal features a unique gourmet event. Culinary specialties from 12 countries are served, ranging from France to Israel. The inspiration comes from the artistic dishes of international star chefs, who also support the local hosts and their chefs with advice and assistance during preparation. This way, guests can enjoy international menus in the mountain huts. In the ski area itself, you can sample delicacies at the lift stations and even taste a variety of schnapps. Additionally, DJs provide music, creating a wonderful atmosphere throughout the entire ski area.

8erAlm

At the mountain station of the 8er-Jet Hochfügen at 2,130 m

For the 2025/26 season, the 8erAlm in Hochfügen has been completely rebuilt. On the ground floor, a modern self-service restaurant awaits guests, while on the first floor, the Pizzeria 8erAlm with table service offers an authentic Italian atmosphere. The spacious and fully covered sun terrace provides protection in bad weather and allows plenty of natural light into the restaurant. A sun lounge and kiosk complete the offering.

Platzlalm

Above the mountain station of the Hochzillertal gondola lifts at 1,790 m

Die Kashütte

At the valley station of the Hirschbichl lift at 2,085 m

The communal hut of the Mizunalm served the farmers for many decades not only as a place for cheese production, but also as a meeting point for farmers, milkers, and cheese makers during the summer on the alpine pasture. The Kashütte was built as early as the 17th century. With combined efforts, the hut was dismantled in the summer of 2018 and rebuilt at Hirschbichl. Today, the Kashütte offers a family-like atmosphere and a cozy ambiance. Traditional Tyrolean home-style cuisine is served. Two double rooms are available for overnight stays.

Firnhütte

At the valley station of the Neuhüttenbahn at 1700 m

The cozy Firnhütte with FirnBar offers upscale cuisine. Highly recommended is the food served on a hot stone. The bread is still baked in-house here.

The rustic ski and toboggan meeting point with alpine hut flair and a cozy atmosphere. Here, you can still enjoy authentic Zillertal home-style cooking, and après-ski is not neglected either. Just make sure not to miss the last shuttle bus to the Hochzillertalbahn valley station.
