Environmental protection of the ski resort Kaltenbach – Hochzillertal/Hochfügen (SKi-optimal)
Great importance is attached to environmental protection in the Hochzillertal/Hochfügen ski area. Energy-efficient snow cannons with a long throw range and heat recovery systems save energy. Hydroelectric power plants are integrated into the power grid, storage ponds can be filled with self-generated electricity, and part of the energy consumption is covered by the area's own power plants. Photovoltaic systems, such as the one at the Wimbachexpress mountain station, also generate electricity. Particularly noteworthy are exemplary waste separation and the closure of certain forest areas. Ski buses and public transport are actively promoted.
