1/18 Wimbachexpress
The Wimbachexpress, a modern 10-seater gondola lift from Leitner, replaces the Krössbichl 4-seater chairlift in the Hochzillertal ski area. Thanks to an optimized and extended route, the new lift also opens up new slopes. At the same time, the exclusive mountain restaurant Albergo was built at the top station.
The Wimbachexpress brings a significant quality upgrade to the Hochzillertal area. The route of the 10-seater gondola lift is almost half a kilometer longer than that of its predecessor, the Krössbichl 4-seater chairlift.
The valley station of the new lift is located at the same spot. However, the top station is about 180 meters higher and much further to the west. This makes it easier to access the already existing, attractive slopes, while at the same time creating additional new slopes starting from the top station of the Wimbachexpress.
The top station of the new 10-seater gondola lift Wimbachexpress also houses the new, exclusive Albergo restaurant, offering Italian specialties and exclusive accommodation options.
When it opened in 2018, the gondola lift was equipped with Symphony cabins. For the 2025/26 season, these were replaced with Diamond Evo cabins.
